What do you love most about teaching?
I love helping students find the joy of learning. It is incredible to watch the “lightbulb” moments when students learn a new topic. I also enjoy encouraging the kids to dream about their future and challenging them to push themselves to new levels.

What does Immanuel Lutheran School, Palatine mean to you?
My own children started at Immanuel in early childhood and I found that the sense of community here was incredible. We did not originally intend to have them stay beyond kindergarten, but they became part of the Immanuel family and we knew we could not take them from that. Several years later I realized that I also wanted to be a part of the school and became a teacher. Immanuel is a second home to my family. My kids feel comfortable here because they know that they can find love and support here.

The best part about following Jesus is ….
The best part about following Jesus is the peace that comes with understanding that Lord is with you always.

Hebrews 13:5 (ESV) Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Why does teaching at Immanuel appeal to you?
I love working at Immanuel because I feel that I can make a difference here. There are opportunities every day to help guide students through the challenging middle school years. Encouraging them to pray and build their connection with Jesus is very important to me. I also really enjoy the diversity in my job. Over the years I have had the opportunity to teach a wide range of electives including sewing, yearbook, 3D modeling, website design, and video production. I really enjoy introducing new skills to the students.
