The best part of following Jesus is…
The best part of following Jesus is that He is in control at all times. How cool is that..I am following Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who is leading me through life’s ups and downs. He shows me how to be proud yet humble when celebrating accomplishments. He gives me strength and courage to face difficult situations. When I fall down, He’s there to pick me up and encourage me to try again. Throughout my life, Jesus has taught me how to treat others as I would like to be treated.

Why did you choose the teaching profession?
During my summer vacations, I remember having “school” in our basement for the neighborhood kids. Then, along my elementary and junior high paths, I was fortunate to have many excellent teachers who were caring and inspiring. Their ability to guide students to be fair and make learning fun left a lasting impression on me. I aspired to bring those same things into a classroom of my own.

What do I love most about teaching?
My students are what I love most about teaching because I have the chance to make a positive impact in their lives. What a gift from God! Every day, we are not only reviewing math concepts, discussing new reading strategies, or talking about sports, but also having a good time learning and sharing together.

What do you see as the benefits to the students for attending Immanuel?
Whether students graduate from Immanuel or leave before completing eighth grade, they will have the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Immanuel’s staff is passionate about equipping and positioning all of their students to be successful at the next level. In addition to the well-rounded education they receive, our students are taught the importance of showing kindness, being responsible, working hard, and serving Christ by serving others.
