Immanuel joined in the solar eclipse-fever that swept the country this week. Monday, Immanuel’s K-8 students learned about and experienced the solar eclipse. In the morning, students first learned about what causes an eclipse and how to protect their eyesight during one. Then, during the eclipse, students used a variety of methods to view the local partial eclipse as well as the NASA live stream of the eclipse. Additional eclipse activities will continue in the classrooms throughout the week. “The excitement from students and staff on seeing this scientific wonder take place was contagious. The eclipse became a perfect springboard to learning,” said Immanuel Principal, Delaine Schiestel.
The eclipse is just one special learning event… Immanuel students experience the joy of discovery every day. If you have any questions about Immanuel Lutheran School, please contact Principal Delaine Schiestel at 847-359-1936 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
