Regional MathCounts Competition
February 4, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
(Sign up by January 20)
On February 4th, Immanuel will be competing in the regional MathCounts Competition for the 5th consecutive year. MathCounts is a program for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in which they compete with other area students through a series of challenging math tests. The competition will be held at Oakton Community College and will run from approximately 8:30 am until 2:00 pm. Immanuel is allowed to have 10 students compete at this competition. If you are interested in having your child compete, please notify Karen Sandusky by January 20th via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
If we have more than 10 students who are interested in competing, we will be administering a test on January 23rd to determine who will be going to the competition on February 4th. The qualifying test will be given after school. If your child is interested, but unavailable after school on the 23rd, please notify Karen Sandusky and alternate plans will be made. We encourage all 6th - 8th grade students to consider this opportunity. It is not important which level of math class they are currently taking. All middle school students are welcome!
