Diane Nordman - 1st Grade

About Mrs. Nordman

Mrs. Nordman has over 15 years of experience. She attended a Lutheran school through the Eighth Grade and loved her teachers! Ever since Second Grade she knew she wanted to be a teacher and to share the love of Jesus with all of God’s children. Mrs. Nordman feels blessed to be teaching at Immanuel; a place where she truly enjoys being around the loving, enthusiastic students, staff and parents.

Mrs. Nordman attended Concordia University, Nebraska, where she earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Nordman is licensed through the Illinois State Board of Education and holds an  endorsement in Elementary Education.

Paula Schroeder - 2nd Grade

About Mrs. Schroeder

Mrs. Schroeder has over 15 years of teaching experience. As a child she was blessed with wonderful Christian teachers who shared their faith, dedication, love, and care in the classroom. Mrs. Schroeder strives to share these qualities as well as a sense of fun as she works with her students and their families. She and her students pray, learn, work hard, laugh, and share God’s love with one another each day.

Mrs. Schroeder attended Concordia University, Chicago, where she earned her bachelors degree in Elementary  Education. Mrs. Schroeder is licensed through the Illinois State Board of Education and holds endorsements in Elementary Education, General Science, Language Arts, and Social Science.

Sue Stitt - 3rd Grade

About Mrs. Stitt

Mrs. Stitt has 12 years of classroom experience and 10 years of substitute teaching experience- including 12 long term assignments.  She has loved working with children, since she was a teen herself, both in ministry and in a teaching capacity. She’s had many years of experience in youth ministry and camp counseling. Teaching and shepherding children is her passion and God given gift.  She is thrilled to bring together her ministry and teaching experience to teach her students in a holistic manner- so her students learn not only the academics but about the truths of God’s Word as well.

Mrs. Stitt attended Emmaus Bible School and then finished her education at Wheaton College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She is licensed through the Illinois State Board of Education.

Cheryl Rathe - 4th Grade

About Mrs. Rathe

Mrs. Rathe has over 5 years of classroom experience. She is the mother of six children—all graduates of Immanuel’s Eighth Grade! She was thrilled to join the Immanuel faculty after being part of the  church/school “family” for 20+ years. Mrs. Rathe personally embraces learning, and works to instill that desire in her students. She feels honored and blessed to be able to teach and share the Word of God in a school that she loves.

Mrs. Rathe attended Hillsdale College, Michigan, where she earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education; she  is licensed through the Illinois State Board of Education and holds an endorsement in Elementary  Education.

Sonja Ruppel - 5th Grade

About Ms. Ruppel

Ms. Ruppel has over 15 years of teaching experience. Since the age of ten she felt God urging her to become a teacher. She loves  teaching God’s children and feels blessed to be able to guide  her students both academically and as they grow stronger in their faith and personal relationship with their Savior.

Ms. Ruppel attended Concordia University, Chicago, where she earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education; she continued her education at  Concordia University, Chicago, where she is in the process of earning her masters degree in Reading Education. Ms. Ruppel is licensed through the Illinois State Board of Education and holds endorsements in Elementary Education and Social Science.
